Creeping in like a ninja
Silent and unseen
Temptations crawl
Into our lives
Subtle, patient
Insidious and sneaky
It slithers into a crack
The smallest gap
In outer armor
It finds a corner
And grows until
We’re used to
It being there
And it seems normal,
A part of us maybe
But it’s still a
And it’s only goal
Is destruction
Ultimate and final
Utter destruction
God’s light shines
On this foreign body
These lies that
Don’t belong in
Our lives, God’s light
Denies temptation
A place to grow
And makes it shrink back
And slither out
The way it came in
